It was the Dave Jones era I believe. I'm sure I remember that him and Jeff Whitley had a bit of reputation for being pissheads at the time. Sort of typical, wayward Dave Jones fodder brought in on a free cos nobody else wanted them but neither really amounted to much or even played a great deal.
