EFL Released list - Manga, Adeyemi and Le Fondre the biggest names

on Wed Jun 14, 2017 10:21 pm
Amongst various youth players.

Kinda sad to see Adeyemi not given a proper go with a Whittingham sized hole now. Manga was probably a foregone conclusion - he wasn't even offered a new contract.

Agree on Adeyemi. He was a young player (21 I think) with bags of potential when he first signed for us, but that was never given the opportunity to develop. I remember that Brum rated him very highly and didn't want to lose him.

There were a lot of prospects that came in around that time with Adeyemi being one the more promising ones. It's such a crying shame that City have such a poor history for developing raw talent, and yet on the other hand, we seem to do a fine line in resuscitating misfits - that was always one of Dave Jones plus points (Koumas, Bothroyd, Chopra etc) and, it seems, Warnock has that gift too (just take a look at Zohore).
