Not entirely unexpected but will his career ever recover from what has frankly been a dog-pile of a three years?

He could have been the Arsène Wenger of Everton, but someone filled his head with a load of nonsense about stepping into Sir Alex's shoes. About as bad a decision as David Marshall's to go to Hull.

Yeah, the Man Utd move was a bit odd, the whole way it was done seemed a bit dodgy.
I wonder if him and Sir Alex are as friendly now, given that Sir Alex basically ruined his managerial career by orchestrating the move to Man Utd for him?

Can't blame him for leaving Everton for the biggest job in football.

Been absolute shite since then, though, and didn't deserve to stay on at Sunderland. Unless he brings a team up from the Champ he will not manage in the Prem again.

Wasn't given enough time or support at United, then made a series of very bad managerial choices and that may be curtains. Man Utd fans and it's board expected a carbon copy of Ferguson from day one and refused to accept that Ferguson himself had made that very difficult to do by using a squad of players in their twilight years alongside a very lacklustre youth policy.
