Hope everyone has enjoyed a restful international break, but today we are back in business

There have been some frank and incisive comments recently from Neil Warnock about the balance of the team and realistic expectations in respect of the next few fixtures. The man commands almost total respect from the fanbase, which is in stark contrast to Russell Slade, who was rightly crucified when played down City's chances in game after game against moderate opposition.

The difference, I feel, is that we know that there is a safe pair of hands at the wheel and things will improve as the season progresses. That was never the case with Slade and I see that Charlton have already fired him after 21 games. I picked up a quote along the lines of "I don't know where that came from" after defeat in his final game in charge. Perhaps if he did........

City may not be moving mountains this season, but I think we will get there eventually. Because of that, I still look forward to each game with a sense of anticipation...not so much in respect of the result, but more so in how the team is shaping up and performing under the new regime.

Not sure whether Huddersfield will stay the pace this season. They remind me a bit of Brentford under Mark Warburton. It will be hard for City to keep a clean sheet today, so I will predict another 1 - 1 draw.
