The sun is shining, the sky is blue, autumn is arriving and all is much better at Cardiff City!

Happy Days are ahead for sure and, really, I don't think anyone would be too upset if City didn't sweep all before them straight away under Neil Warnock. A consistent upward progression is what we want to see.

Still, it would be very nice to see a positive result and performance against Wigan today. Like Forest, the opposition is going to present a different challenge to our boys, maybe Wigan just looking to grind out a draw, whereas three weeks ago, they might actually have reckoned on a win at CCS.

No Ricky Lambert today, so presumably Pilkington up front. Hopefully, no other injury worries, so we could see Hoillet and Noone again on the wings. The match fitness of the new players will improve and I am looking forward to seeing Richardson playing a greater part, maybe coming on for Whitts or Ralls later in a game.

Reasonably confident about a result today ........ 2 - 0 City

Sorry to rain on your parade, but the weather is lousy, grey and damp and to make matters worse a 2-1 defeat.

Chamakh has been ill this week so unlikely to see him, which is a shame in the absence of Lambert. I'd make minimal changes after that Forest win last week, with seven days' rest between games at the moment.

Whitts, Ralls and Gunnars impressed against Forest so let's just hope they can build on that showing today!

Pilkington for Lambert, Peltier for Connolly, who drops out of the squad altogether. Manga & Immers on bench.

Honeymoon over, everyone back to reality. The squad isn't good enough for a top half finish, Warnock has his work cut out, but if he gets us to mid table will be a job well done. difficult few games coming up.

Disappointing result, but not the end of the world. I don't think there is a honeymoon period with Warnock. We were going to lose at some point and also lose at home, so better to get that out of the way and let's all concentrate on supporting the efforts of the club to turn round the slide of the past two years.
