Personally, I'd play Le Fondre rather than just pay him off but it probably depends on whether we can get another no hoper in to play up front.

OGS' signings during his time at the club: Eikrem, Daehli, Berget, Cala, Jones, Fabio, Burgstaller, Le Fondre, Adeyemi, Morrison, Pilkington, Manga, Guerra, Macheda, Gabbidon, Dikgacoi

I'd say Jones was a success on the whole - never massively loved by fans but he did at least score goals.

Morrison is another who has done well enough, albeit joining at time when a centre-back was the last thing we required. Likewise for Manga, who we will take a £5m hit on in nine months' time.

Pilkington is probably the only player there who has fully justified his fee, and even then he's hardly set the division alight!

Yet still Mackay gets slated for one bad signing.

Not just one bad signing, there were other reasons. Amazing that there were a number of OGS signings that were never really given a chance, but were dumped virtually from day 1.
Also as regard to Cornelius, MM's one bad signing, he wasn't given a chance either, there were other signings of his (some attributed to Tan, which I don't subscribe to) such as Velikonja to name but one.

Many of Malky Mackay's Championship signings with relatively little cash were inspired......Taylor, Turner, Cowie, Connolly, Conway, Noone, Mason, Miller, Gunnarsson, Helgusson, Gestede......

......it was only when he was given an open chequebook that he was out of his depth..........
