Apart from being fairly sure that Fabio won't feature, there are not many clues to the team that Trollope will put out tonight.

Perhaps something like.......

Moore

Morrison Tutonda Ajayi

Harris Gunnarsson Adeyemi O'Keefe Kennedy

Noone

Zohore

If Gunnarsson doesn't figure, I think we can take that as an indication that he might be on his way.

1 - 0 City, Noone penalty!

First half a bit slow and ponderous. Different formation, same toothless effort. Noone and O'Keefe caught in possession a few times, a couple of stray passes from Gunnarsson. Zohore not contributing much.

Not really good enough so far.

Moore maybe could have done better with the goal, but if you can't score, then you ain't gonna win.

Two games against moderate opposition, no goals.......if Trollope was expecting a honeymoon period, then it just ended.

Malky's first season aside we've been consistently awful in the League Cup. Are we perennial slow starters?

Only watched the game passively, but we looked very toothless as mentioned.

I'm not massively disappointed. It will take time to fully get going, and I do have more hope in Trollope than Slade, though we definitely need a couple of attacking players.

I'm not bothered about being out of the competition, but the side put out comprised main squad players.  It's not as if this was a second string team full of youngsters.

We looked very good going sideways and backwards, but no invention in attack.  Bristol completely nullified our wing back formation and we then had little to offer, at least until Pilkington came on.

I thought Manga was pretty awful again and very lucky to get away with several panicky touches and clearances.

I've never been as big a fan of Manga as others. He's obviously a brilliant player but lacks concentration too often which explains why no bid has come in.

With Fabio now gone I wonder how long this 5-3-2 formation will last...
