Think that is the correct decision in terms of twisting rather than sticking, but seems strange to give him a 'backroom role'. Will likely have a key part in signings, which doesn't fill me with confidence.

Yes, would rather have shown him the exit door rather than the one labeled "storage cupboard"

It's a gesture by Tan, no more.

Slade doesn't have experience at a high enough level or the gravitas that goes with it to be an effective Head of Football.  It will be interesting to see which managers would be prepared to work with him upstairs, even if not in the direct chain of command.

I have an awful feeling that Scott Young is not out of the equation.

Can't resist this one. One Craig Bellamy will be appointed CCFC first team coach very soon.

So they have kind of sort of sacked him, basically?

New manager choice will be very interesting and speak volumes about tabs desire for the team. Stick a big face in straight away or look to someone like Bellamy as a long term project?

Must admit, this has surprised me - I assumed he would of stayed on.

Rumours are that they want someone with some experience, which would seem to preclude Bellamy. We shall see!

Reading the analysis of his role on WalesOnline, his role doesn't seem to be very significant in relation to the playing side of things and is unlike the usual Director of Football role (as opposed to Head of Football).
Whatever it is, getting him away from the team has rekindled my interest!
For what it's worth, I heard Moyes' name being bandied about yesterday but he wouldn't come cheap.

The couple of millions for a good manager is chicken feed compared to what is shelled out on player costs.

The potential rewards are immense.
