First topic message reminder :

Possibly the last but one match thread of the 2015/2016 season. In some ways it might be a blessed relief if our season isn't extended.

Russell Slade has said that he feels that he has done his best, which, to me, is hopefully a thinly veiled "I've had enough".

I have a feeling that today is going to end in another frustrating draw...........the story of our season.

Well, that was pretty awful in a crucial game. Shades of Middlesborough all over again.

Next Saturday should see players such as Healey, Saadi and Tutonda in the squad for a dead rubber game. Also with the useless Ameobi returning to Newcastle, there is absolutely no point in picking him for this game before he goes back (there's no point picking him most weeks).

Marshall & Manga should be left out, as they will be on their way in the summer, so why risk an injury? Manga hasn't been playing that well in any event.

Finances might well dictate that fees for those two will provide the bulk of any kitty available.

What should happen and what actually does is two different things.

Not a chance Healey or Tutonda or any other youngsters/Dvp player will be involved

In many ways, I am not too upset that the season petered out the way it did. That said, it never really got going in the first place. Five points from a possible 18 chasing a potential promotion place was very poor and has highlighted the limitations of the present administration.

A close miss would have made the situation regarding the manager less clear, but as things have turned out, he has to go in the eyes of most fans.

Just hope that the club sees it the same way and doesn't limp on with him until Christmas.
