**Official Match Day Thread - Sheff Wed v City**

on Sat Apr 30, 2016 8:59 pm
Possibly the last but one match thread of the 2015/2016 season. In some ways it might be a blessed relief if our season isn't extended.

Russell Slade has said that he feels that he has done his best, which, to me, is hopefully a thinly veiled "I've had enough".

I have a feeling that today is going to end in another frustrating draw...........the story of our season.

"I've done my best" is a complete non statement by our Russ.
I could take over and achieve nothing (unlikely I know) but as long as I say "I've done my best" at the end of the season, will all be forgiven?

It's a throwaway comment for sure, but also a damning indictment of his limitations. Whatever happens in the next two games, other clubs will be looking at Russell Slade as a manager who would do a good job for them.

That situation might change if, given a new contract by City, he fails to kick on and is sacked come next Christmas. Head over heart should be telling him to cash in now on a job perceived to be well done by many.

Draw. We haven't got enough this season and don't deserve to go up.

I'm actually more interested in the Premiership this season which I don't think has ever happened (except when we were in it)

Slade setting his stall out for an all out attacking game.

2 centre backs on the bench. Saadi left out altogether. Obviously another signing like the many over the past few seasons to just pick up a wage for doing buggier all.

Ah well.

Can't blame Saadi. He hasn't been given a chance.

That is my point. Sign players but never give them game time.

Senseless.

Let's be honest the side/squad and in particular the manager not good enough.

This Club will be lucky to remain mid table championship next season with Slade at the helm.
