Was talking to a celtic fan in my shop yesterday and he was telling me he knows a director at the club and he said Malky is their choice

It's the job he's always wanted, but there are more qualified candidates as it says in the article.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tan didn't try to find another spanner to drop into Malky's works.

I think one of the things going for Malky is he will be a lot cheaper than the leading candidates

True.  Celtic have always run a tight financial ship, even more so since the collapse of Rangers.

Any of the candidates should be able to win the League at will, but how many might be able to take Celtic further in the Champions League?  That man would more than earn his extra salary by doing that.

You have to wonder how ambitious Celtic really are

Think he might be the dark horse candidate for that job and his defensive approach might serve them well in the CL.

Looking through their messageboards, the vast majority of Celtic fans are completely against him taking over. Think it's Moyes's to lose really.

IMO Moyes is too good for Celtic, but it would be a convenient back door into the the British game for him.

Unlucky to have to follow Fergie at Man Ure, Sociadad afterwards was a poor choice. Very few British coaches make any sort of impact in the major continental leagues.
