**Official Match Thread - City v Shrewsbury**

on Mon Jan 04, 2016 8:16 pm
First topic message reminder :

Ah, the romance of the FA Cup!

That went out of the window years ago and all we are left with, certainly in the early rounds, are a couple of meaningless and generally unwanted games.

Will be interesting to see how City approach the Cup this year.  Home ties are unlikely to attract much of a crowd, so not much in the way of revenue.

What sort of team will we put out, given injuries and lack of cover in some areas.  Could it look like this......

Moore

Fabio  Manga  Tamas / Oshilaja   John

Ameobi O'Keefe  Dikgacoi  Whitts (c)

Macheda  Revell

I've heard we've had an offer for Revell - from a donkey sanctuary.

Considering our playoff hopes are looking pretty dead, a cup run could of done wonders for the atmosphere surrounding the club. Sigh.

Fun fact just shared with me - Shrewsbury conceded seven goals last week in the league. Our team can barely even muster a single shot on target.

No you can't. He's staying for the rest of the season.

Surely there's not many left who can defend Slade now?

No craft

No guile

No pace

No cutting edge

No clue

No hope

Vincent Tan I suspect, as he's too stubborn to admit his choice was a bad one. Hopefully the accounts being released in April opens his eyes - we may have slashed the wage bill, but we must of lost millions already in lost attendances.

We have spent a fair bit more than people realise, too. Forget waiting until the end of the season - bring in a new manager this week.

Now would be the time to do it and allow the new man to get a few players in before the end of the month. I have a feeling that this will be nothing more than wishful thinking.

Bring in Bellamy. As silly as this sounds whether he ultimately succeeds is irrelevant - the passion he would deliver could rekindle the fire for the fans and finally steady a ship that's been sinking for years.
